I'm Leslie Owens, a Holistic Health Practitioner, and I help parents get rid of their fatigue and brain fog so they can be the parent and partner they're proud of!

ACCOMPLISHING HEALTH HOLISTICALLY BY STARTING AT THE ROOT

Functional Health is a holistic discipline that bridges the gap between clinical nutrition and functional medicine. The body subtly alerts us to the imbalances by causing small symptoms (headaches, bloating, gas, brain fog, low energy, etc) that we often brush off as being tired, aging, or a myriad of other things. 

Symptoms and imbalances do not happen over night and often have been in progress for a long time.

Many people I work with have spent years going from doctor to doctor to get medications for their symptoms then they have to take more medications to treat the side effects of those medications. It's a hamster wheel.

TREAT ROOT CAUSES, NOT SYMPTOMS

Treating only symptoms is similiar to watering the leaves of a tree rather than the roots. To achieve lasting wellness, it is necessary to identify and treat the hidden root causes. I use functional labs to take a deeper dive into dysfunction that can lead to dis-ease.

Poor sleep quality is a direct contributor to metabolic chaos. Sleep treats everything non-specifically.

EXERCISE

The human body is meant to move. Movement, historically, was equivalent to survival. Some benefits include: detoxification, improved circulation and energy, relieves stress and inflammatory resistance, and increases life span. Ensuring you incorporate the right kind of mvoement for you is so important.

STRESS MANAGEMENT & HEALING THE NERVOUS SYSTEM

Stress management and healing the nervous system are critical components to health and wellness.  We get stuck in the fight/flight response and this is not a place where we can heal. These are the most important piece of the wellness puzzle.

MENTAL HEALTH & WELLNESS

Carrying negative emotions/ trauma can literally make, or keep a person sick. It is important to take steps to addressing these to find complete wellness.
