If you're a special needs mom, especially one that experiences PANS/PANDAS in addition to other diagnosis, I do not have to tell you the sadness, loneliness, devastation, despair, helplessness, and isolation that accompanies. Shortly before I discovered Leslie, I was at the end of my rope; ready to literally give up on it all including life. My son looked like a skeleton, unrecognizable to even our closet friends. I described him as, he looked dead. I participated in Leslie’s program because something had been wrong for over 25 yrs. I was told I had fibromyalgia and nothing really helped. My symptoms got so bad I was working from bed and thought I had dementia at 47. Since working through the program, my memory, focus and clarity are back and I'm able to grow my business with less stress. I'm back in the gym 4 or 5 days a week and have energy to go do things with my kids. I have a better grasp of nutrition, vitamins and herbs and what it takes to have a healthy body, mind and spirit. It was almost 10 years ago I walked into my doctors office in tears thinking I was on my deathbed. Normal TSH levels are under 4, mine scored over 100. I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto’s that day. I had every symptom there was. The worst ones for me were the debilitating anxiety, depression, brain fog, and my body feeling like it had 50 pound weights hanging all over it, making moving any body parts nearly impossible, without being in pain and weak. The next several years improved some with medications and DIYing things to try to help my condition, however, I racked in a couple more autoimmune disorders and I never felt like myself again. I never had the energy I used to and never lived without brain fog again. Fast forward about three years ago. I had to move back to my mother’s house to help take care of her. With an unhealthy situation and environment, I developed 80% coverage of psoriasis on my body and scalp. It was time to find different treatment options which is when I found this program. This program is fantastic! One of the things I love about is getting answers to WHY my symptoms were happening. Also having the weekly group coaching sessions to hold me accountable, to ask questions, and be with other moms that truly get it is sooo helpful. I have not felt this good in 10 years!!! Trust The Process!!! The small changes made led to a lifestyle change and BIG differences. I never would’ve thought just going to sit outside facing the sun for several minutes in the mornings would help wake me up and get me going, or the fact that opening drainage pathways would get rid of all my sluggishness and brain fog and give me so much energy!!! I have struggled with health issues my whole life. It’s frustrating when you go to doctors and have them constantly tell you there’s either nothing wrong, or they don’t know why things are happening. Worse, is when they tell you that you aren’t being honest. For decades I told doctors I was gaining weight regardless of what I did. That the more I ate “Healthy” the worse I felt. They assumed I was just lazy and lying. I finally learned about FDN-P’s and that a health detective was actually a real thing not just my wishful thinking. I hired Leslie Owens in October 2022. She hit on my issue with processing oxalates. Instead of fluctuating and slowly increasing weight, my body immediately began to respond to a low oxalate diet. Avoiding many “healthy” and “super foods” because my body can’t process them means I’m losing weight without trying. I have more energy, and the ability to navigate my health in ways I never thought would be possible. My goal wasn’t weight loss. I wanted to feel good. Have energy. Be able to do the things I want with my life. I’m still in the process of my body healing from having fuel that it couldn't process well for 46 years—but I am slowly getting more energy. My body has shed weight because it now has the right fuel. Having someone capable of looking at my health history and my test results with the idea of looking for answers instead of what medication to throw at me has been empowering to me. I have hope and I trust myself more. I knew things were off, but enough people tell you that it’s in your head, and it’s hard to keep trusting yourself. I continue to work with Leslie and to work with the information she has uncovered for me. Hiring her has saved my life. My kidney and liver functions have improved. My pant size has gone from a 22 to a 12. My hairstylist is ecstatic about how much thicker and healthier my hair is. My skin is more vibrant. I’m not worrying about trusting my body anymore. I’m just excited to see what comes next as it finishes purging years of wrong answers. It’s completely possible to get answers.
